Aquila District Cub Scout Summer Day Camp

Cub Scout day camp involves the efforts of Pack and District volunteers to create an educational, inspirational, and fun experience for Cub and Webelos Scouts. There is a similar but separate camp for Tiger Cubs. A Scout professional and volunteer camp director supervise a staff of dedicated District volunteers. Directors are certified by the National Camping School of the Boy Scouts of America. The camp program is carefully designed by a committee of experienced camp leaders, guided by parents' suggestions.

Aquila District holds day camp at beautiful Schoenwald Park in Burien, Washington. Schoenwald Park is maintained and provided to us by the Kiwanis Club of Highline, Burien, and it is located behind Sylvester Middle School. There will be one session of camp this Summer, running from Tuesday, July 20th through Friday, July 23rd. There is a limited amount of space in camp and we do expect camp to be full this year, so please register early to ensure that your Scouts can attend camp.

If you have not been to Cub Scout day camp before, now is the time. Getting outdoors is what appeals most to boys, and Day Camp experiences are what boys remember most about Cub Scouting. This is the promise of Scouting and it's why we're here. Each day at camp, Scouts will spend their time doing the kinds of things most young boys love to do including crafts, cooking, nature exploration, archery, wood-working, leather-working, BB guns, and games. Scouts can make good progress on achievements, arrow points, belt loops, and activity pins. Our camp is inspected and meets or exceeds strict quality, health, and safety standards as required by the National Office of the Boy Scouts of America. Logo 2010Day Camp supports Cub Scout Packs, and Packs that attend Day Camp have an easier time earning the National Summertime Pack Award.

A new camp theme is selected each year to spark the imaginations of our Scouts and to help keep camp fresh for Scouts who attend every year. The theme this year is "Cub Scouts Blast Off", so many of our activities, crafts, and games will have a space emphasis (think astronauts, stars, rockets, constellations, and planets).
